lucky number nine…

…my day began at 3:30 am. i got up and was out into the car again by 4:15 am. i was on the way to my first scheduled pick-up and i received another fare. in order to honor the rental agreement, i need to accept 90% of my rides, so, i accepted the add-on…

…my first ride of the morning was d**i. she came out from a club and asked to go across the street to the smith’s grocery store. she was tired, after a long night of dancing. when she got back into the car, i took her to her condo…

…my next ride was my scheduled pick-up, a**a, was headed to mccarran international airport, which secretly terrified me for two reasons. it was still dark out and the last time that i drove to the airport, as just a passer-by…i got completely lost and off course. this woman had so much calm and confidence, that it just automatically soaked into me, too. the moment she got into the car and spoke to me, i was filled with an extraordinary amount of peace. it was wonderful and uncharacteristic of my experience with life. she had the most beautiful accent and i asked about where she was from, where she was going, and what she did. originally she was from the french part of geneva, switzerland…thus the french accent. she was traveling to knoxville to be in her friend’s wedding. she was a geology professor at unlv, which i found to be fascinating. a**a told me something that i didn’t know about switzerland. i assumed that everyone there spoke german, but apparently the city is broken into parts…a german part, a french part, an italian part, and an english part. she was really nice…i liked her a lot…

…next came d**a. she was riding on a bus on her way to work at levi-strauss, when it suddenly went out of service, and she was left stranded. d**a’s job is to guide the computer in sewing the designs on the back pockets of jeans. she liked her job, but felt that her trainer was trying to compete with her…

…followed by, d’*****n. he was interesting because his works with electronics. he builds kiosks and slot machines…

…i took, m***a, to a middle school where she teaches ten emotionally disturbed boys, from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. she was originally from maryland…

…t***r was a kick in the pants. he sent me a text to pick him up at a bar…it said, “don’t worry i’m not a drunk guy…i’m the bartender.” he was chipper, upbeat, and funny. it was his friday and he was anxious to get home to his puggle and dachshund. he was so excited, in fact, that he left his wallet behind the bar. we went back for it. he just got back to vegas a few months ago from three years in the caribbean, on st. thomas. he told me that he could make me a mean whiskey sour. i asked if they had bar food and he told me that it was the best around. i asked if they had fried green beans, but they don’t. he works the late night shift and said it had been really quiet…that he only served two cops all night…

…r****l and her mom were next. they were going to the airport and were headed to nashville, tn. they were going for a business convention for realtors…

…d**n went to work at the mgm grand and spent his trip talking on his phone…

…j***n was pilot riding to the airport. he was getting ready to fly to denver…

i was back to the apartment around 9:00 am. i’m getting into the swing of things and trying to decide what kind of schedule will be the best for me physically…and work for buggs. with time and practice, i will make it all work. see…i am getting closer with each day that passes, to acheiving my goals, and my dream to come home…to a home on the beach. i can have what i want and i will.
