today i am grateful for…

…getting up early and going for a nice long walk, in the cool desert air. watching the sun come up through the clouds. breathing in and out easily…

…my new computer. i tried and tried to sell it, so that i could go to iowa for christmas, but it never sold. i tried to sell it when i got back, but it didn’t sell. so, i took the motherfucker out of the box and jenny set it up for me. i love it!! it has a ginormous monitor, that i find myself getting completely lost in. it has a card reader, i can just take the card out of my camera, and put it directly into the computer. my photos look great on it. and, it allows me to work quickly and flawlessly on freelance work for upwork.com…

…being able to touch base with my old friend, robin. robin and his husband, john, have been my friends for nearly 20 years, that is so hard for me to believe!! they used to help me and kelly on our single copy news distributorship. oh my gosh, on sundays, we would have nearly 3000 papers, 32 stores, and 30 racks. some sundays the papers were so thick, that they couldn’t go through the machines, so we would have what they called an “ad pack” Sunday. an “ad pack” was one big ad, like fred meyer, filled with smaller loose leaf ads. anyway, we would get bundles of papers and bundles of “ad packs” that we would have to insert by hand into the paper. we would have to fill the back and cabs of my truck…kelly’s van, with the seats taken out…and, we would have to rent a u-haul van, just to fit all of those papers. anyway, robin, who apparently was immune to motion sickness, used to sit in the back of the u-haul, while kelly drove, surrounded by papers and “ad packs.” so, he sat back there and inserted the “ad packs” into the newspapers, while being jostled around. he was awesome and fast!! when she pulled up to a store, he would already have the correct amount of papers, inserted and ready for her to take into the stores. i always loved robin!! we were buddies!! robin and i used to drive down to eugene, corvallis, beaverton, hillsboro, and tualatin…once a month and deliver the gay paper, “just out.” oh my gosh, when he was driving, we got into at least three accidents. he and john, used to have boxers, and kelly adopted one of their babies…gertrude…and, kelly still has her…she is a very lovely dog. anyway, robin told me that he may know of a place for me, in downtown vancouver. which would be awesome, because then i can take my disabled home ownership classes, and meet with my lender and real estate agent. my plan is to stay in vancouver, until i get my place in long Beach, washington…and then, i will finally be home!! i can’t wait to see john and robin…i guess that they had dinner with kelly and sam two weeks ago. i was grateful for being able to catch up with my dear old friend…

…my sweet little man, buggs, who loves me whether i’m happy or sad. i think that he really knows that things are weird right now, because i believe that he suffered a loss, too. he loved being in iowa being doted on, by the two girls and he loved being in the company of ladybug, his friend and partner in crime…

…richard, wendy’s, and jenny…

i am strong and healthy. i am a good person, who deserves love and respect. i am am honorable and respectable.

namaste.
