certainly uncertain…

there are things that i am absolutely, positively, unshakably certain of…and then, there are things that i am terribly uncertain about.

i’m certain of various things…

…the physicality of people, animals, objects, and places (if i am able to see, hear taste, touch, or smell something…it becomes more certain to me.)…

…the unseen force of gravity (however, only fully understanding, after seeing what happens to astronauts, when they are devoid of gravity.)…

…the miracle of photosynthesis, that provides humans with vital oxygen…

…the miracle of honey bees and pollination, that provide humans with crops, trees, and healing honey…

…the shortest distance between two points is a straight line…

…the fact that everyday is a new chance, to start over, to change, to love, to grow, to laugh, to try something new, or to be your best…

…the fact that life is cyclical…birth, life, and death…

…the history of human nature, illustrates that we humans have never learned from history, at least up until this point…

…the fact that there is no cure for: ignorance, hatred, malice, racism, sexism, bigotry of any kind, fearfulness, cruelty, brutality, hostility, or “perceived evil”…

…the fact that love can blossom, grow, change, become estranged, wither, be neglected, forgotten, or overblown…love changes over time, but it never completely leaves, it impacts our behavior and imprints on our souls…

…the fact that trying to do something repeatedly, the same way, hoping for a different conclusion is the definition of insanity…

i’m also uncertain of various things…

…since the synapses in the brain continue to fire for up to 10 days after death (information from my coroner friend), i am no longer certain whether or not, there is any capacity for the body to feel, once declared brain dead from lack of oxygen…

…i am not quite certain, what happens to a fully functioning body, when the brain shifts and decides to do something different, without the body being aware, dissociation…

…i am uncertain about, where to go from here…

…i am uncertain about my place in this world…

…i am uncertain about why dogs walk around and around in circles, before finally deciding to stop, squat, and take care of business…

…i am uncertain about why my arms and torso get cold, but my legs, feet, hands, and head don’t…

…i am very uncertain about that which i cannot see, the unknown…

…i am very uncertain about what will happen, when i get on that plane, on thursday…

…i am very uncertain about whether to travel with my service dog, or not…
