pdx…

moist, wet, damp, soggy, musty, humid, temperate…

we don’t mind stepping in puddles…getting caught in deluges…carrying an umbrella…

lush, green, oxygenated, fresh, alive, fast-growing…

we appreciate the beauty all around us…the fresh-clean air…the ever-green scene…

rivers, bridges, waterfront, ships, fishing, dragon-boats…

we embrace the ebb, and flow, of our local waters…a river-centric, counter-culture…water-worshipping, waterfront-walkers…

mountains, winter, white, skiing, snowboarding, chair-lift…

we love our winter, outdoor sports…we have snow-bunnies and serious pros…we are at home, in the lodge, drying near the fire…

trees, ferns, mushrooms, forests, moss, banana-slugs…

we camp like, no others…rain or shine, weather resistant…inhaling our environment, a natural high…

coast, beach, salty, sandy, sunny, foggy…

we are beach-goers…collecting shells and sand dollars…looking for agates, and glass floats…

vietnamese, indian, greek, german, japanese, italian…

we love trying new things…adventurous eaters, a plethora of tastes, textures, and teasers…food-carts, to fine dining…

alberta, the pearl, hawthorne, chinatown, fremont, skidmore…

we thrive on revitalization, up-cycling, change, rebuilding, reusing, recycling…hip, trendy, hot, artistic, neighborhood spots…first thursday, openings, and art walks…

hipsters, yuppies, greenies, boomers, immigrants, x’ers…

we keep portland weird, that is our motto…a melting pot, a blend, a complementary mix, united, living mostly peacefully…letting our freak flags fly…

rose festival, saturday market, fleet week, starlight parade, 24 hour church of elvis, dragon boat races…

we enjoy our special events, and places…delighting in our yearly rituals…the birthright of every pdx’er…

pride festival, dykes on bikes, embers, escape bar and grill, cc slaughters, the egyptian club…

we fly our rainbow flags high, with pride…lgbtq couples are safe here, to walk down the street holding hands…meet-ups, dances, dinners, hikes, drag and fashion shows, bingo, and game nights, unite our community, and bring us together…we are family…
